THE PROCESS
-
Each project begins with a complimentary call to get to know one another, share details your project goals and learn about the RCD design process. Following the complimentary call, an In-Home Consultation of up to two hours is scheduled. During this meeting, you’ll share your wish list and goals for the project, discuss any challenges, and work with us to define the scope of services. Preliminary photos of your home are taken at this time and discussion of the budget begins. After the In-Home Consultation, we develop a design contract that includes all project deliverables.
-
Once the contract has been signed, we begin a deep dive into information gathering, which reaffirms the budget, scope, and design direction. This includes (but not limited to), obtaining floor plans, if available, or field-measure project spaces. Inventory and analyze existing furniture and equipment, review applicable codes and a completed pre-design questionnaire. When all pertinent information has been accumulated, we provide you with a design brief that summarizes your project deliverables. Once the brief is approved, the next phase begins.
-
After exploring your preferences, information gathered during the programming phase is applied to initial design concepts, inspiration boards, layouts, and product or material solutions. Our Schematic presentation guides the overall design direction for your home.
-
Your design is further developed as we collaborate with you to ensure every detail is perfect. This is a visual and tactile process, where your home’s design is expertly refined.
-
Upon your approval of your new design, our in-house procurement team orders new furnishings, fixtures, and accessories for your home. They handle expediting, monitor receiving, and ensure quality control of all orders.
-
Our design team facilitates construction documentation, including interior elevations and detailed finish selections schedules, as required for your new construction interior, your renovation, or your addition. This is an important step in collaborating with your building team.
